We are delighted to announce that our Grand Opening ceremony will be:

Grand Opening/OceanCon
The Grand Opening celebration will be Sunday, October 27th at 11:00 am. In addition to speeches and ribbon cutting, we will dedicate a 50-year time capsule donated by the Friends of the Oceanside Library (more details on that are forthcoming.) We then will invite you into the building for tours and to let you see what your support has created.
At 1 pm we kickoff our 7th Annual OceanCon, filling the entire building with activities for patrons of all ages!

It has been interesting creating a building during these times (COVID, inflation, etc.) It certainly didn't help that a few weeks ago all of our new furniture was lost when the warehouse it was stored in burned to the ground! Fortunately, everything was insured, and our wonderful team of professionals has been able to replace about 90% of it so far.
There is still much to do and our dedicated staff is working hard behind the scenes to get ready for what we hope will be a near-seamless transition.
We appreciate your patience and ongoing support.
We are proud that throughout this process we have been able to provide you with full library services (most libraries work from trailers during construction, with drastically reduced service).
We are excited and anxious to show you the next generation of libraries, right here in Oceanside.
